I guess the continued demolition of multi-billion ISK citadels whilst they can't defend themselves is exactly what CCP intended, but it's definitely looking a little bit stupid right now.
There are many differences between POS and Citadels. For instance POS can get shot all day long. Citadels can get shot for 6hrs in a while week (at least that L one). And that in particular probably died in a 15min timer. Also, It might be argued that Citadels have better defenses than POSes. Imho, the vulnerability timers mechanics gives Citadels a huge safety advantage. I do admit that Astrahaus might be really easy to kill.

DeleteHave to agree - its a bit pointless really, as even a defending fleet probably can't stop it if the bring the right amount of DPS.
ReplyDelete@Rob, if you put down a 33b thingy I expect you to defend it. If you cant do it, then you will lose it. No excuses.
ReplyDeleteThey're all unfit. That's what makes it silly. You set up this huge thing, and then when it's vulnerable, you can't do anything with it.
DeleteI agree that if you put something down, you should defend it, but that's not the problem I have with the current situation.
Except the current POSs at least can defend themselves. without an active player controlling the defenses, citadels have NO defence.

Station egg isn't the toughest thing in to world to kill. Maybe that is a better comparison than POS in terms of vulnerability when setting up.
